About Dr. Mariah, ND

Passionate about helping individuals achieve their health goals through personalized, evidence-based naturopathic care

My Journey Into Naturopathic Medicine

My journey into naturopathic medicine began at 16, when I first discovered the profession. I was immediately drawn to the human body's remarkable ability to adapt and heal, and became deeply curious about holistic approaches to health. That curiosity led me to spend a summer living with a herbalist, where I immersed myself in learning about herbs and plant medicine. During university, while pursuing my undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics (Movement Science), I worked at a local health food and supplement store. This experience further broadened my understanding of natural health and wellness. When I wasn't training as a varsity sprinter at the University of Windsor, I was either in a hot yoga studio or researching health topics that fascinated me.

Four years later, after completing my bachelor's degree, I continued my journey at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto. While at CCNM, I led the Pediatrics Club and founded the Naturopathic Community, a resource-sharing hub designed to support and connect students and naturopathic doctors across the profession. As part of my clinical training, I spent a month in Hawaii under the mentorship of a naturopathic doctor, acupuncturist, and nurse practitioner. This experience helped broaden my clinical perspective and deepen my approach to patient care. After graduating and completing all required registration exams, I began practicing in person in Woodstock, Ontario, and also offer virtual care to patients located throughout the province.

My approach is grounded in the understanding that the body functions best when given the right support. I use in-depth assessments (including bloodwork, nutrition, and lifestyle analysis) alongside evidence-based therapies such as targeted supplementation and sustainable habit-building. By taking a comprehensive and collaborative approach, I help patients better understand their health and create long-term strategies for improved well-being.

My Approach to Patient Care

Patient-Centered Care: I believe that you are the expert on your own body and experiences. My role is to listen, understand, and work collaboratively with you to develop treatment plans that align with your health goals, lifestyle, and values.

Evidence-Based Practice: My treatment recommendations are grounded in current research and scientific evidence, combined with traditional naturopathic principles. I stay current with the latest developments in naturopathic and integrative medicine to provide you with the most effective care.

Holistic Assessment: I look at the whole person, not just isolated symptoms. This includes considering your physical health, emotional well-being, lifestyle factors, environmental influences, and social determinants of health in our treatment approach.

Root Cause Medicine: Rather than simply managing symptoms, I focus on identifying and addressing the underlying causes of health imbalances. This approach leads to more sustainable, long-term improvements in health and well-being.

I am driven by the belief that everyone deserves access to personalized, compassionate healthcare that addresses their unique needs and circumstances.
